Colombia Excelso is produced in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, a range of mountains that runs along the "Carribbean Coast" of Northern Colombia. This area is exceptionally well-preserved, hosting a variety of national parks and protected forests, as well as the Lost City of Teyuna, an ancient site that dates back to 800 CE. It's also Colombia’s main organic coffee-growing region: most growers here have ancestral ties to the land, and their agricultural practices are designed to honor and preserve it. This coffee is a natural fit for Middle Fork Roasters, whose ethical, community-driven focus dovetails perfectly with the bigger picture of what organic and rainforest alliance certifications represent.
