"Similar to Wyatt's experience, I received a box that had such a strong and foul chemical odor, I was not able to drink it. The smell quickly dominated the lower floor of my home and I needed to bring it into the garage. I contacted Beanbox, who sent an alternate Coffee sampler, which was excellent. They were not able to re-ship the Seinfeld collection, which was a disappointment. I offered to send them back the product I received so they can observe and document first-hand how bad the smell is and to investigate. They refused. I do wonder why there are no other complaints about this. If it was not a broader problem, why not just send me a replacement Seinfeld box so.... I did enjoy the non-Seinfeld replacement they sent me, which I'll review separately. "

"While the coffee itself was quite good, the box I received my delivery in was colored with a black dye that was so estringent and chemical-smelling, that I was very worried it would penetrate the packaging and affect the coffee itself. Luckily, I discovered the coffee grounds to have remained unaffected once the pouch containing them was opened. It was, however, so strong a smell that the first thing I did with the delivery was to throw away the box it came in and all the rest of the packaging therein, save for the pouches of coffee themselves, as it also had the same smell attached. I was required to do so by throwing the packaging away in the outside dumpster, otherwise the odor would have remained so long that it would have overstayed it's non-existent welcome. I give due consideration to the fact that it is summer, and that the heat very well may have contributed to the smell coming off of the dye, whether it be in whole or in part. I ask only that the company of Bean Box give the same due consideration to the matter and cease the use of this black dye or ink, and eliminate the wretched smell once and for all. Would that the box remained odorless, this would easily be a five star review, and as such I have decided to report my criticism in the hope that the company takes it to be a constructive criticism, and is able to improve therein.
