For entrepreneur Tahnee Bryn, the key to a good morning is taking things slow.
§ What time do you get to sleep? What time do you wake up?
I always want to be the person who is early to bed and early to rise, but the truth is, I’m just a night person and usually get a burst of energy and ideas after my kids go to bed. I clean, I read, I online shop, I organize stuff, I write down ideas, sometimes I even cook! Or my husband and I catch up on series or movies. Sleep comes when I fall asleep with my Kindle on my face around midnight.
§ What do you dream about?
Usually I don’t remember my dreams.
§ What’s the first thing you do once you’re awake?
Coffee of course! Lately I have been enjoying black tea though too. And then I get my family breakfast.
§ What morning ritual do you have that’s sacred to starting your day off right?
Waking up with enough time to enjoy my coffee and breakfast and not feel rushed.
§ What one possession/object is essential to your morning?
My Minnetonka slippers! I can’t leave my bed without them, a pair of Barefoot Dreams socks, and a hoodie.
§ With whom do you spend your mornings?
My two girls, my husband, and our Yorkie Ruby, and soon to be baby boy (due end of this month)!
§ What do you eat for breakfast?
Usually eggs, or a protein smoothie, or paleo pancakes (banana mashed up with eggs make the best pancakes, and then I add sliced strawberries on top). I always feel best with something high in protein and not too heavy or sweet. Saturdays are for waffles though or a scramble from my fave cafe.
§ What kind of coffee do you drink in the morning, and how do you prepare it?
I love to make americano's (with and without a little half and half, depending on my mood), or breve lattes. I’ve been addicted to breve lattes during this pregnancy.
§ What’s the one upgrade you wish you could add to your morning?
Some quiet time to read, work out, and just get ready for my day before responsibilities kick in.
§ What do you consider the end of your morning?
When my girls have started school, and I pull out my laptop.
