§ What time do you get to sleep? What time do you wake up?
I would love to say that I'm on a regular schedule like back when I worked a nine-to-five job and was in bed by eleven and up at 6, but that's just not the case. These days, running my own company, it varies. I spend my days exploring the NYC food scene and then get home and write all about it. Some days, I climb into bed around midnight but others it's closer to two or three in the morning and then I'm up again at seven(ish).
§ What do you dream about?
I honestly have no idea! I'm one of those humans who rarely remembers their dreams. The only ones I tend to remember these days are worky—like I work in my sleep. I dream about what is next on my agenda and weighing the importance of what my focus will be.
§ What’s the first thing you do once you’re awake?
I jump into my gym clothes and go for a morning run around the reservoir in Central Park while listening to podcasts. I find myself sprinting the last couple of blocks home for the next part of my morning routine, coffee! It's my prize for completing my workout while also transitioning me into the work part of my day.
§ What morning ritual do you have that’s sacred to starting your day off right?
Running. If I don't do it, or some form of physical activity, I feel this sense of latency in my brain that carries throughout the day.
§ What one possession/object is essential to your morning?
My cell phone. It's where I first check my emails and see what kind of things are piling up. It's where I get all of my ducks in a row.
§ With whom do you spend your mornings?
I see my awesome husband before he heads off to work and my super cool pup.
§ What do you eat for breakfast?
Depends on the day. If I'm planning to visit a lot of restaurants, it's dependent on what's on their menus. If I'm working from home, often its fried eggs and fruit or a yogurt with some sort of granola crumble on top.
§ What kind of coffee do you drink in the morning, and how do you prepare it?
Ninety percent of the time I'm having a large vat of coffee served black. Lots of times it's at home quickly made using my awesome NesCafe machine. Other times, I'll go to one of the cafés in my neighborhood and will get my first cup there.
§ What’s the one upgrade you wish you could add to your morning?
I don't really have a legitimate answer for this. My mornings are pretty good. It would be great if they lasted longer!
§ What do you consider the end of your morning?
Call me a by the books kinda girl, but on weekdays, noon.
