Leah crafts her mornings they way most of us think we should: kickstarted with journaling, meditation, and yoga.
“My dreams are really, really strange... Alice and Wonderland level bizarre.”
§ What time do you get to sleep? What time do you wake up?
I usually go to sleep around 11 pm and wake up at 6:30am.
§ What do you dream about?
My dreams are really, really strange. The strange dreams are things like riding on the backs of giant lady bugs, having tea with a human-sized egg with a monocle... Alice and Wonderland level bizarre.
§ What’s the first thing you do once you’re awake?
Write in my journal. I enjoy the non-judgmental head space that's organically present when you first wake up. Pure stream-of-consciousness writing. It's often quite surprising what comes up.
§ What morning ritual do you have that’s sacred to starting your day off right?
Doing yoga. It's movement and meditation all in one and never fails to put me in a calm, yet happy and energized mood.
§ What one possession/object is essential to your morning?
§ With whom do you spend your mornings?
Myself. I especially enjoy solitude in the morning.
§ What do you eat for breakfast?
An oatmeal smoothie bowl. I make a really tasty, creamy smoothie and mix it with oatmeal.
§ What kind of coffee do you drink in the morning, and how do you prepare it?
I love light roast coffees and I usually drink it black or with a splash of almond milk.
§ What’s the one upgrade you wish you could add to your morning?
I want to get up earlier and ideally fit in some kind of rigorous physical activity.
§ What do you consider the end of your morning?
When I leave for work.
