For Eric, morning isn't a transition into the day: it's a daily renewal of living, shared with friends.
§ What time do you get to sleep? What time do you wake up?
I usually get to sleep around 11PM and wake up at 6AM.
§ What do you dream about?
If I’m lucky enough to remember my dreams they’re usually about being at the beach or chasing sunsets. I’ve had some cool dreams about far off places but can’t really envision where they’d be. That makes traveling and seeing new spots so enjoyable. Maybe one day I’ll come across one of these places!
§ What’s the first thing you do once you’re awake?
I always go straight to making French press and then take a morning beach walk with my friends. It’s a nice morning ritual that they enjoy before they go off to their jobs and I enjoy it because it gets me up and going early!
§ What morning ritual do you have that’s sacred to starting your day off right?
Have to have my morning coffee on my walk otherwise I’d probably be half asleep the whole time.
§ What one possession/object is essential to your morning?
I love the YETI mug I have because my coffee is usually just as hot at the end of my walk as the beginning.
§ With whom do you spend your mornings?
With my fiancé and close group of friends. My friends just got a cute puppy and it’s awesome to take her on the morning walks now as well!
§ What do you eat for breakfast?
I usually have a bowl of spinach with two friend eggs, an avocado, and sautéed mushrooms on top. It’s pretty filling so keeps me full until lunch!
§ What kind of coffee do you drink in the morning, and how do you prepare it?
I usually like a darker roast with almond milk. I always use my French press and steam the almond milk. That combo is perfect for me.
§ What’s the one upgrade you wish you could add to your morning?
I actually wish I could get up and start the day even earlier. I always feel like I run out of hours in the day and I’d rather wake up early than stay up super late.
§ What do you consider the end of your morning?
Usually I end my morning at the gym and head home for lunch. If I can get my morning exercise, cook breakfast, do some work, and get a gym workout in, I consider the morning a success!
