Curator's Notes

This is Kuma’s second year sourcing from Oaxaca, and like last year, Santiago Atitlan amazes us with it’s balance of the sweet, tangy, and nutty profile. Crisp apple and zesty citrus notes keep us coming back for more each year.

Roaster's Notes

https://www.kumacoffee.com/collections/frontpage/products/mexico-santiago-atitlan-new $21 Retail The last time we brought in a Mexican coffee, it sold out in a few weeks. This season's harvest is even better. The first lot we've purchased is from the municipality Santiago Atitlan. Notes of black cherry, toasted hazelnut and a touch of tangerine acidity make this high scoring coffee so easily delicious I want to drink it all day. Much of the coffee from this region is grown by small producers, owning on average about 1 to 2 hectares of land. We worked with the wonderful team at Red Fox to import this unique coffee. It is thanks to their hard work and dedication to both quality and sustainability that allows us to offer this coffee to you all. The team at Red Fox works directly with the small producers to diligently vet coffees for quality to create exceptional lots. In turn, Red Fox pays farmers a premium for their hard work. "Great coffee! I got this in the sample pack and really enjoyed it as a french press. Enjoyed the bright and tangy profile. Would definitely consider buying this one again "

"You can definitely smell the baked apple upon brewing the beans. It’s a great Autumn coffee! There’s a light toasted hazelnut taste that gives me the feeling that it’s autumn. It’s not as light as it says on the package, which is not bad. It’s a great coffee but I feel like I should be labeled leaning toward a medium roast."
